St. Pat's Throwbacks

Unless you've spent a good amount of time in Savannah, you're probably unfamiliar with the insane popularity of the city's St. Patrick's Day parade. Long story short, it's huge! About a half a million people come every year in their finest green duds to celebrate with a four hour parade.

Given the extent of the celebration, we thought it only right to dive right in to the craziness and sport some St. Pat's costumes ourselves. 5 Green afros, a pack of iron-on transfers, 2 boxes of kelly green fabric dye and 10 knee-high, green-striped socks later and the St. Pat's Throwbacks were born:

more pics to come.

How to fry a jalapeno turkey

I may be a lobster, but I can at least tell you how to fry a jalapeno turkey. Thanks to Matt's uncle Michael Espinoza we were able to try out this awesome recipe, so big thanks to him!!

Step 1: Spend about 30 minutes assembling the cooking set Jeremy bought you for your birthday last year.

Step 2: Sport an evil grin, while packing the turkey with delicious pickled jalapenos.

Step 3: 2 cans later, it cant hold anymore!

Step 4: Find a friend to help you sew it up like a football, while you inject jalapeno juice into it. Yikes!

Step 5: Sewn, stuffed and hogtied turkey, reporting for duty SIR!!

Step 6: Slowly lower the turkey into 350 degree oil.

Step 7: Watch as the oil frys the turkey. Awww yeah.

Step 8: Stand around and have some beers, or like Ken....stand on one leg for about 55 mins.

Step 9: Golden, delicious turkey, ready to be cut up and consumed.

Step 10: ENJOY!!!!

If I wasnt a vegetarian...and a lobster I would have loved to have enjoyed this delicious turkey. Maybe next time they'll have a spare tank sitting around so I can at least have a few beers without suffocating. Until next time, this is chef Buster saying "I PIIIIIIIIIIIINCH!!"

CD Reco!

Ok peeps. I'm not sure if anyone can relate to this, but lately I've been in a complete music slump. I've had the hardest time forming a close bond with an album or even an artist for that matter and have found myself constantly shuffling through my music in anguish!
But then a miracle happened. I stumbled upon Kate Nash and her new CD "Made of Bricks". She's a super cute Brit and her music is catchy and alot of fun. I pretty much keep her CD on repeat on my Ipod & Itunes and I don't plan on switching to shuffle anytime soon! Check her stuff out!

Love is in the air!

Well, the month of February has managed to pass us by but yet love still lingers in the air. All weekend I have seen quite the assortment of "love tags" strewn across the city. Everywhere I went I saw things on lamp posts, buildings and sidewalks. Some cute, some perverse - but nonetheless...sweet nothings!

Here are two of the "love tags" that happened to catch my eye as I was sashaying by them. One is kinda dirty and the other super sweet.

The first one I saw when I was coming back from grabbing a coffee at Cafe' Cafe' in Soho. It was on a lamp post outside of Green Street deli.

The second one was in the East Village on 11th between 1st and 2nd. I glanced over and saw this super sweet quote scribbled across a metal garage door. The image is a bit blurry (it was taken on my cell phone while Maddie tugged on her leash) but i'm sure you'll be able to decipher what it says (hint: "We can walk and hold hands") Cute!

Hugs and kisses from the city! XOXO
